| A classic deep red/brown oxford. |
Oxfords are easily defined as the most stylish form of formal footwear. Oxfords are characterised by three things: A closed lacing system, low-heeled, and an exposed ankle. All oxford shoes share these essential features, and although most have the eyelets on the quarter, a whole cut or seamless Oxford are the exceptions. Oxfords typically have no designs or patterns on the toe box of the show like a brogue, however some oxfords may have a leather cap which creates a unique detailed look on the toe cap. Oxfords are usually worn at black tie or more formal events to create an understated sense of fashion.
